Jim Taylors Auto Museum Rebrand

What is it?

Jim Taylor's Auto Museum, formerly known as the Kernersville Auto Museum, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and showcasing a diverse collection of classic American, English, French, and German automobiles for public viewing and enjoyment. The museum celebrates both the history and craftsmanship of these vehicles, offering visitors a unique look into automotive design across different eras and regions.

Original Brand

For this project, I collaborated with an upperclassman to reimagine the museum’s visual identity. Our goal was to move away from its previous look, which appeared dated and out of touch, and develop a brand that felt fresh, sleek, and modern while still respecting the museum’s heritage. Through this redesign, we aimed to create a more cohesive and engaging experience that would appeal to a broader, contemporary audience.

Our new brand

The new brand blends a refined, modern aesthetic with a sense of classic elegance. At its core is a calligraphic typeface, chosen to reflect the craftsmanship, tradition, and artistry behind vintage automobiles. This expressive typography is paired with a clean layout system and a restrained color palette, allowing the brand to feel both sophisticated and contemporary. Altogether, the redesign positions the museum as a place where history and artistry meet, appealing to both enthusiasts and a broader, design conscious audience.
