Beef Psychedelic redesign

For this project, I reimagined the visual identity of a contemporary title through the lens of a historic graphic design movement. I chose the Netflix series BEEF and drew inspiration from the psychedelic design movement to reinterpret its marketing. While the original series presents a compelling narrative and strong thematic foundation, I saw an opportunity to more vividly communicate its core message of self-worth and acceptance through visual design. By incorporating the vibrant color palettes, distorted forms, and expressive typography characteristic of psychedelic design, I developed a series of three promotional posters that aim to more effectively capture the emotional intensity and underlying message of the show.

my prompt

While I enjoyed exploring the psychedelic design movement and drawing inspiration from artists like Pink Floyd, I initially found it challenging to translate that style into a way that felt authentic to BEEF without appearing overly stylized or gimmicky. Through several iterations, I refined my approach by focusing on the bold “BEEF” typography as a central visual element. This shift allowed me to strike a more effective balance between the expressive qualities of the psychedelic aesthetic and the tone of the series.

my process

I initially approached this project with the goal of creating a dramatic, raw visual tone. As the process developed, however, the direction naturally evolved into a more playful, colorful, and bold aesthetic that better complemented the concept.
