Kinetic type: What is thought?
This project marks my first experience working with Adobe After Effects and animation as a whole. The assignment was to create a one-minute typographic animation that explored how type can interact with both sound and other visual elements. For the audio, I chose Jim Carrey’s “Thought Speech,” delivered at the 2009 Inaugural GATE event. The speech reflects on the power of imagination, belief, and the role our thoughts play in shaping our reality. In response to these ideas, I used animated typography to visually emphasize key phrases and rhythms in the speech.
